4 things to introspect about and make new resolutions for new year 2024

1. Your accomplishments in the last year

While the year gone by could have been tough for most of us, there is always a silver lining in the darkest of clouds. Take a moment to reflect on some of the good things that happened to you or that you made happen this year. This is a great way to feel a sense of achievement and give yourself some well-deserved applause. This will also help you set the direction for the upcoming year. Your achievements could be from your personal or professional life, but they essentially have to be the things that left you with a sense of growth and gave purpose and meaning to your life.

2. Your financial planning

Take stock of financial instruments you invested in or plan to invest in for your financial growth. This exercise will give you a perspective on how to risk-proof your future by investing in the right instruments based on your financial goals for the upcoming year. The goals could be as simple as saving a year’s living expenses to survive situations of job loss or layoffs or buying medical insurance to protect yourself against health exigencies. Financial security will also give you a sense of emotional and social security, so set aside time to sort out your finances.

3. Your personal theme for the last year

By theme, what we imply is your learning from the situations, incidents, and experiences you went through in the last year. For example, maybe this year you felt grateful for a life of health and abundance, or you found solace in spirituality. Or you found your refuge in your family, as they were your pillar of support in all situations. Or you made the most of this year by upgrading your skills, knowledge, and passions. Whatever the emergent theme, make sure to capture it in your notebook so that it stays with you for posterity.

4. Your dreams for the upcoming year

There is truth in affirming. So, make notes on what you seek and desire in the upcoming year. Jot down your deepest desires, your secret goals, your unabashed ambitions, and your wildest fantasies. For example, taking a Himalayan retreat, learning to play the guitar, striving for professional success, or being kind towards yourself. It’s the first step to manifesting your life goals!

New year, new goals!! The year 2024 should set your perspective right!

So, as the New year 2024 is just around the corner, focus on these four things and then create the resolutions for your new year:

  1. Reflect on your accomplishments in the year 2023.
  2. Take stock of the financial instruments you have invested in.
  3. Introspect on your learnings from the past year.
  4. Manifest your dreams and goals.

Such a simple exercise, as above, will make you realize how far you have come in your journey of ticking off the bucket list of your life goals and what course of action your life should take in the new year. As a bonus, you will feel sorted, purposeful, and fulfilled.

Another beautiful pattern that you will see emerge from this yearly exercise of reflection is that when you look at your achievements and resolutions at the end of every year, you will see a trend of how, over the years, many of your dreams and resolutions actually turned into reality. And that will give you an anchor of conviction that you are on the right path toward your personal evolution and life growth as you welcome the year 2024.

Isn’t that self-assurance a great way to ring in the new year 2024 on a high note?
